Does the CD contain all animations and all video clips?
Yes. It features the entire CELLS alive website -- including interactive animations, animal and plant cell models, cell cams -- plus the entire video library. Also included are versions of the interactive Flash animations (Mitosis, Cell Cycle, Meiosis, HowBig) that can be played with Flash Player installed OR without additional software.
Will it work on my computer?
If you can navigate this site on your computer, the answer is yes. The CD is cross-platform and compatible with both Apple and Windows OS using your choice of browser (Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) equipped with Flash Player. Javascript should be enabled.
Do I need to be connected to the Internet to use the CDROM?
No.
May I use it on my home desktop for preparation purposes and then on my laptop to demonstrate in class?
Yes, that is perfectly acceptable.
May I use images from the CDROM in a not-for-profit educational CD I am producing?
No. This product is for educational use by the purchaser only and no portion may be incorporated into any other product. Please read the Terms & Conditions. Licensing information for use in other products is available from Quill Graphics.
How quickly is it sent?
Orders received weekdays by 1PM (US Eastern time zone) and FedEx orders (US only) received by 4PM are usually shipped the same day. Orders received after noon on Saturday or on Sunday are shipped Monday.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. The CELLS alive! CDROM has been shipped to 40 different countries. There is no charge for shipping.
Can I install the CDROM on my classroom network for access by all my students?
If you purchase a multi-user version, yes. If there are 15 students in your classroom, purchase the version for use by 13-20 students. Although you are allowed to use the multi-user CD on a closed classroom network, no CDROM may be made accessible via the Internet without specific written permission (Terms & Conditions).
My Single User version may not be distributed to several classroom computers. Can I upgrade?
Yes. Upgrading from one version to another is simple. Use the email at the bottom of this page to send us the serial number from the CD or other information identifying yourself as the original purchaser and indicate how many students need access. I will provide a quote and options for paying. Upon receipt of a valid school PO (US only) or payment, I will send a new CD for the requested number of users.
PayPal did not accept my credit card but I know the credit account is in good standing.
This seems to be most frequent when using Purchase Cards (PCards) supplied by schools or universities. For security, certain online purchases may be blocked on your card. If using a different card is not an option, you may make the purchase directly from Quill Graphics by telephone, fax or mail using the offline PDF Instructions and ORDER FORM.
I made a purchase through PayPal but am told there is a delay for funds to clear. Why?
This can happen for one of two reasons. Either you paid by “echeck” drawn on your bank account, or from an existing PayPal account with insufficient funds to cover the purchase. Either way, PayPal must wait for funds from your bank before the purchase can be completed. This delay can be avoided if payment is made using a credit card.
Why do you need my telephone number?
Your telephone number is required only if you want overnight delivery. FedEx requires the recipient’s number to avoid any delay. Otherwise, Quill Graphics neither uses nor shares your telephone number.
